Our Committees

20 Committees

Our General Assembly committees will tackle issues ranging from addressing political instabilities among terror-torn African nations, to social medias role in environmental degradation.

12 Committees

Possibly the most creative committees our SIMUN team has ever developed, hybrid committees combine the worlds of fantasy and reality. Committee topics range from defending villages and defeating the ender dragon in the world of Minecraft, to the mental health impacts of kid-influencers on child audiences.

17 Committees

SIMUN is super excited to present 17 unique, fast-paced crisis committees that are sure to keep all delegates on their toes and engaged. With the help of our fantastic crisis staff, we can’t wait to see delegates transform our committees and highlight their creativity. Topics range from addressing the current state of NIL deals in college football, to an advanced cuban missile crisis simulation.

Why SIMUN XXIV?

Since 1999, the Saint Ignatius Model UN team has strived for excellence. Exhibiting this commitment through  the annual SIMUN conference, this event has been referred to as “the best high school conference in the country.” To date, 22 SIMUN conferences have been held, giving our team the opportunity to develop the best possible experience for hundreds of delegates every year. In recent years, SIMUN’s excellence has been on display at conferences such as NAIMUN, where in the past four years the team has placed 1st, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st, respectively.

SIMUN is proud to have nearly 50 committees. This year, chairs have been challenged to run committees that have never been done before outside of the SIMUN conference (for GAs topics that have never been done) in order to continue to push the envelope and to create the most diverse, engaging, and uniquely SIMUN conference ever held to date. 

SIMUN is a great opportunity for delegates to step out of their comfort zones, seek new perspectives and understanding, and gain new knowledge about the world we all live in. In each of the 45 committees, there are as many as 100 delegates to interact with, learn from, and collaborate with. As the largest one-day highschool MUN conference nationwide, SIMUN hopes to provide a special MUN experience for all delegates.
